The school was overloaded with people, policemen, doctors, and most of all, children, along with their parents. The air wasn't right, nothing felt right...

Jack was making his way around the town when he saw a few fairies zip by, their faces filled with concern and sadness. He sat up from his casual perch from the top of a Church building, his eyes narrowed with concern. What's wrong with them? He wondered with a frown, watching a familiar fairy float by his face. "Baby Tooth!" He called, taking his beloved staff and leaping off the roof, starting to follow his little friend.

She turned, her duel colored eyes fogged and sparkling with confusion and concern, mirror her siblings. It only pained the newer guardian more to see her face so sad, Is...is Tooth okay? He lowered his eyes at the thought, trying to piece it all together.

"What's happened? Where's Toothiana?" The white haired boy asked, hovering before the hummingbird like creature, looking at Baby Tooth straight in the eyes.

She shook her head, glancing back towards some of her sisters as they zoomed off towards what seemed to be a large, elementary school. Jack studied the scene, watching Police cars and ambulances rush by. Crowds were here and there, the feelings of the crowd could be felt from where the two floated.

It didn't take much after that, Jack gave a quick nod to his little friend. Both flew out into the chilly wind that the Guardian had brought earlier that day, his eyes narrowed as it stung his cheeks even worse than usual.

As they neared the school, the pair could see a large green figure floating above the building, her hands clutched in front of her as she drifted from one end of the roof to the other. Jack's heart sunk at that moment, the only time he had ever seen her like this was a year ago, when their mortal enemy, Pitch Black, had taken all the children's teeth from her castle. "Tooth!" He yelled, speeding after Baby Tooth as alighting just above the roof.

The Tooth Fairy turned, recognizing the voice that came from the freezing wind. Her purple eyes widened, quickly turning her face away from Jack, and bringing her hands up to her face to wipe tears away from her eyes.

"Tooth..." Jack Frost murmured, his bare feet lightly touching the concrete roof as he slowly walked towards his fellow Guardian.

Toothiana sniffled, refusing to look at the white haired boy. "J-Jack, I'm sorry, I don't want to talk right now..." She barely said, her voice sore and tired from crying, she could feel the lump in her throat getting worse. Oh, why did you come... She thought mournfully, staring down at the roof top below her.

"Looks like you don't have much of a choice." Jack replied, gesturing with his curved staff. He managed to give a light smile before going back to a serious, concerned look. "Come on...I have to know..." He said soothingly, taking one last step before floating up to Toothiana's level.

He frowned, hesitating to reach out and touch his friend. Tooth wrapped her arms around herself, shaking as she tries to keep some of her sobs down. She felt his cold, pale hand rest on her shoulder. She didn't bother shaking him off now, You need to talk to someone, Tooth... She admitted to herself.

Jack turned Tooth towards himself slowly, his blue eyes narrowing with concern as he saw her face. Her bright, lightly rosie face, streaked with shining white tears. Her purple eyes bored into Jack's, "They...they were children, Jack!" She cried, lowering her gaze quickly as another set of tears fell from her cheeks.

Jack's hand tightened on Tooth's shoulder, his heart taking bullets as he studied her brightly feathered face. His blue eyes lowered as well, glancing from right to left, thinking of what to do now. He looked up with a determined look on his face, inching closer to the fairy's face as he put his other arm around her neck, bringing her closer for a hug.

Tooth gasped for breath, lowering her head into Jack's shoulder as she let it all out. Her muffled weeping filling the air as she wrapped her arms around Jack's torso.

Jack stared off into the distance, bringing his free hand up to her head and pressing it against his blue coat. He only listened to the cars and weeps coming from below, but mainly to a reporter placed in front of the school as she held the microphone up to her mouth as she spoke.

"Earlier today, a 20 year old man shot 28 people at a Connecticut Elementary school including 18 children and his mother who was a teacher here at the..."

That was all Jack wanted to hear, he shut the voices out as he squeezed Toothiana closer to him as they sank to the surface of the roof. "Oh, Tooth..." He whispered, his feet planting on the roof. "I'm so sorry..." He added, resting his chin on the colorful fairy's shoulder. "...Were you there?" He asked hesitantly, silently thanking the Moon that this was no where near where Jamie and Sophie lived.

There was a long pause before Toothiana's legs started to weaken, sinking to the ground as she let go of Jack to cover her face. "I heard them...I heard them, and I hid..." She whispered, her hands leaving her face to look up at Jack as he stooped down in front of her. "I could have done something, Jack! I could have saved--"

Jack quickly placed his staff on the ground, bringing her in for another hug. "There's nothing you could have done, Tooth..." He whispered, shutting his eyes as he held his friend against his chest.

A soft buzzing noise appeared next to his ear, a different breeze of fluttering wings brushing the locks of his snowy hair, making the two Guardians look up to see sweet, concerned Baby Tooth staring down at Toothiana with a frown.

"Baby Tooth!" Toothiana exclaimed, putting on a trembling smile as she reached out to the smallest of her army. The little fairy snuggled against Tooth's shaking fingers, it's feathers ruffled against her nails. She looked up innocently, staring at Toothiana with the sweetest concern. Tooth chuckled, wiping her eyes as she parted away from Jack to bring Baby Tooth to her cheek. "I-I'm fine...Go help the others... She whispered, lovingly rubbing against the baby fairy.

Jack raised an eyebrow, "You sure?" He asked, taking his staff in one hand to hoist himself up.

Toothiana sniffled, looking up at Jack to give him a reassuring smile. "N-No...But, I will in a few days..." She answered, letting go of Baby Tooth.

The white haired Guardian straightened himself up with a serious look, his blue eyes flickering with sincereness. "Let's go tell the others, I've got an idea..."
I've been dying to write something to do with Rise of the Guardians, and I thought this would be a nice way to do it.

As it states in the writing, earlier today, December 14th, a twenty-year old man shot and killed twenty eight people, including children, and his mother.

Shortly after, he shot himself.

I'm sorry if there are some bad grammar or mistakes on there, it's pretty late...And I broke down crying in the middle of writing all this.

Let me know if I should continue this story, I'd love to do it, though I am a bit rusty right now.

Characters {c} Dreamworks

I don't own any of them, just the words. :)
